Where Are The Wind Farms Concentrated In The U.S.?

Posted in Uncategorized

In the USA a majority of the Wind Farms were concentrated in California up until recently, and then as the trend became more popular more farmers got into the wind harvesting business. A lot of the farmers are actually paid by a third party, someone who leases the land from the farmer for a certain price. There are different types of leases that wind companies use, one where they pay up front and one where they pay a certain amount every month. They are mainly in the Northern states and stick to the plains country in those states. Farm land is an ideal place for wind turbines because they are open and have little in the way of natural barriers. Farmers like them in their fields not only because of the extra income, but also for the clean air and economic growth that the wind industry has spurned. The DOE is hoping to power a good portion of the United States using wind turbines. They take up a little less than half an acre and are said to be the future of the energy industry. Wind turbines are good because they do not hurt the environment and are definitely family friendly energy.
